Default I'm New. How much would I be looking to spend for a 96-00 Civic?

Hey,

I'm new here and I am interested in buying a 96-00 Honda Civic. It has to be a 2dr and have a manual transmission. I'm looking for one in good mechanical shape as well as cosmetic shape. How much would I be looking at spending. I want to keep the milage at 130K or less. Would $3000 be suffiicent? Any help would be apprecaited.

By the way, I also would appreciate any tips you have. Thanks.

If I were to spend 4K could I get one that has around 100k miles and is in really good shape? What is the best way to buy these? I can't find any in my local classifieds.

blue book usually pads their prices for dealer markup, and other crap.

NADA is usually the better pricing guide. Expect something in the $4500-$5500 range.
