NeverBX is right its wise to do the water pump and the belt tensioner. USE ONLY GENUINE HONDA PARTS!!!
What is exactly special tool that I need? I have heard that some people in here were having trouble with the engine running after they replaced the timing belt.

Thanks

You really don't need any special tools. You just don't want the belt to be too tight or too loose after you replace it. Once you honk the tensioner bolt down, the tensioner won't move anymore, so I'd say... no special tools needed. All the tesnioner tool does is set the initial tension on the pulley before you torque the tensioner bolt down.

twinring is right. You won't get the crank pulley off without an impact wrench. The motor will spin even if you get enough leverage. Other than that, hand tools will suffice. You'll need a floor jack to support the engine with once you take the timing-side motor mount loose... anyone else?

I got my crank pulley off with a breaker bar and 2ft extension pipe, but it was difficult and took 3 hours of acutal work h:
probably 12 hours of thinking how the hell do I get that thing off.

If you have access to an air gun by all means get it. I wouldn't recommend this task to anyone if they don't have an impact gun, but if you dont, there are a few things you can do.

First, take a hammer and put a breaker bar on the crank bolt and then hit the end of the bar to disturb the crank bolt a little bit. smack it a couple times but not too hard. after that put the car on the ground and in 5th gear, and then have friend literally stomp on the brakes and hold them. then you put the breaker bar on the crank pulley bolt, and then put an extension pipe on the end of the breaker bar, and then stand on it.. it should come off but sometimes they are a bitch.

Good luck and ask questions if you have any. DON'T loose the crank pulley key either

Thanks
save yourself the hassel and just shell out the average of $250 to replace the pump and belt.

if you go to a backyard mechanic it will run crappy becuase usually he skips a tooth/doesnt check timing/makes belt too tight.
