Default My 95 Civic LX seems to have consume too much gas

Hi Everyone,
How can I tell that my 95 Civic LX (has 107k miles) has high gas mileage consumption. If it does what do I need to fix the problem.

Thanks!
Merry Christmas!

keep record & use your trip odometer

Find out how big your gas tank is (say it's 8.5gallons) and you fill up with gas and then you drive til your empty and your drove 305 miles then your getting

305/8.5 = 35.88mpg

or something like that h:

Doesn't matter how big the tank is.

Zero out the trip meter when you fill up and look at the number of miles on it the next time you fill up. (make sure you fill it all the way up, don't just put a few bucks in it) Then do the same math.

Kind of the same math, but instead wouldn't you devide the miles driven by the actual amount of gasoline you put into the car..?

I don't know, but either way you'll get a pretty good estimate of what your getting.

do you regularly change your oil/air filter? next time you do an oil change, look for a place that does 14 point inspections. they'll usually top out all your fluids (braking, tranny, power steering, etc.) and check tire pressure. i have a 95 dx and i'm usually getting about 33 - 35 mpg city and about 42 - 45 mpg highway. also check for a fuel leak from the tank or problems with fuel injectors.

1. check tire pressure
2. replace air filter
3. replace fuel filter
4. replace PCV
5. Check distributor cap, ignition wires, spark plugs
6. Put a fuel system cleaner in your gasoline to help clean the injectors

am I forgetting anything?

Unplug the map sensor and do what next? What do you mean
by "will signal WOT all day and night"?

Thanks!
