He said he doesn't have the time for a swap.

I would rather have the EG. The EK dosent look as good as the EG IMO. I have ridden in both EKs and Egs I like the EGs alot better. Just my opinion. Also the EG's dont have obd2 like mentioned above and they dont have the side impact door reinforcements so there lighter than the eks. I think the EGs Interior and Exterior design is superior to the EKs. Just my .02

He said he doesent have the time because he has an internship.... That wont last forever...

I am sure down the road if he makes a point of it, he can do a swap, it takes no longer than 3 days with the right stuff and know how.

Why give up a relyable car and 2 grand for a car you know nothing about? Now I could understand doing this if you just got your EG, and dont know jack about it, and had 2grand to blow on whatever, but I am sure you are not in that situation. Sounds like you are in the same boat as I am, I was gonna do sorta the same thing with my motor, I was gonna trade some guy, straight across, my D16Z6 with 130k, for a B18 that had 40k, and had Nitros, and I was planing on moving in a week, and didnt know much about the history of the motor. So I posted my question on here, and decided not to do it, and just to stick with what I got, because I know it. And Now I have more $ in the bank, and am planing on buyin a H22 from Hmotors this summer. If I had gotten the B18, and it had problems, I would be in the hole, and even if it didnt have problems, I would still prob end up geting the H22 later on down the road, it would just take me longer. So everything worked out for the best. Keep your car, and if you do a swap later on down the road, keep the stock motor so you always have somthin to fall back on, even if it is a pain in the ass to re-swap it in.

another thing, is the fact that the guy is so easily wanting to give up a 30,000 mile car with all the money/time he has put into it. something right there puts up a red flag in my head, others will argue trading the car and 2k isnt giving it up that easily. but he would probably take your hatch and that 2k and do a swap himself, then your left with an unknown car already modded by someone else, and not 2000 bucks. and like others said, you have no clue what to expect, when i got my 01 integra and drove it for a 2 hr road trip i kept turning down the radio because i kept hearing noises that i didnt hear driving my girls civic.

that is 1 of the problems i dont have the right stuff or "know how" id have to pay some1 to do the swap and that would cost more $$$$

yeaah my friend wants the EG cuz he's plannin on puttin a b16/b18 swap in it
cuz the EGs are lighter.....but he bought the EK from some1 less then a year ago with the swap and most of the mods on it so he doesnt really kno the history of it either which isnt good....as far as looks im startin to like the EK better but...but ive pretty much decided not to goo thru w/o with having to drive 24hrs to Florida from NY i would be too paranoid listening to every little thing...so thanx again every1 for your input alot of it helped me make my decision and save $2000
