CV Boot and/or Joint
you're cv joints are either still good, or they gone bad already. technically speaking, there's not in between.
if u hear some clicking noises when making extreme right or left turns, your outter cv joints have gone bad already. if you hear a click when u initially accelerate, your inner joints have gone bad. replacing the joints by itself would actually cost more in terms of parts and labor than changing the the whole axle. that goes the same for just replacing a bad or torn cv boot.
prices... a new boot would be about $12-$14 each boot, but again, it's the labor that'll hurt.
the price for a remanufactured axle will range from $70 up to about $140 depending on the quality. brand new axles can range from $120+ but some shops might have it done for about $145-$150 each installed so that's including labor.
