HI i currently drive a 98 civic ex automatic transmission and it has a problem that is driving me crazy.

Heres the problem. When my car is idle i feel the car pulsing and the RPM meter moves up and down eventually going less than 500 . It mostly happens when im on drive (D4,D3, even on neutral) It rarely has happened on Park. I dont know whats causing this problem. Sometimes the engine shuts off ( unfortunately it happened at a few lights) when it gets bad.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, My car just broke 70k miles. Any help is much appreciated.

when was your last tune up?
is your check engine light on?

 

hmm, i have an auto and i get vibration when warming it up and when I'm at a light in gear. Motor mounts perhaps?

I agree, see if a tune up works if you haven't already done so.

 

maybe you should chek the throttle..mine was doin that too...i fixed mine after i cheked the throttle...
