Stalling after valve adjustment
My engine was noisy in the morning so I thought i might need a valve adjustment. So i went to my mechanic and had it done. The next morning after about 3-4 minutes, my rpms dropped and the engine cut out. I restarted it but it
did the same thing. After about 10 mins though, this stops happening, but rpms still seem low at times. I went back to have it checked out, says they readjusted some but i still have the same problem. What could be causing this? Everything else seemed fine before I brought it in the first time.

define noisy.... where under the hood was the noise coming from?
what does the mechanic normally work on? just honda/acura? all vehicals? is he reputable?
perhaps your ecu needs to be reset?

ill try to define - somewhere in the range a noisy lawnmover makes, or a noisy old vw bug. Basically it sounded rough - particularly the more gas and rpms the louder it sounded - when the engine was cold.
the mechanic is reputable. He works on everything.
how would i go about resetting the ecu? i tried pulling the back-up/ radio 7.5 fuse for ten seconds - the chilton said this resets the pcm (powertrain module) - it that the same thing?

It seems like after the adjustment, that the rpms are very low (100-200rpm)at cold to less cold (0-15 mins of driving) but go to about 500 at fully warm. Does this sound like a symptom of adjusting the valves whenthe engine is too hot?

To reset your ECU you disconnect the battery for 10 min, and then reconect the battery and start your car (donot give it any gas) dont touch the throttle, and let it idle untill it gets warm. That should do it.. If not, take it back, he obviously did somthing wrong...
