Default Top Dead Center Sensor

I have a Code 8 reading on diagnostics which I have understood is a faulty TDC Sensor. Can anyone tell me exactly what the TDC Sensor does and how would it affect the performance of my car?

TDC - Top Dead Center

It's a sensor that tells the ECM when the #1 piston is at top dead center. Without this sensor working properly, it could throw off your timing and cause detonation(bad thing)

thought it was called the crank angle sensor. either way its not extremely difficult to get to. take off the crank pully and youll see the housing that covers it.

The TDC sensor is in the dizzy, the CKF sensor (crank fluctuation) is in the Oil pump.

:sigh:
