hood latch cable relocate

hood latch cable relocate
Well it seems that theives easily stick their hands through my cars bumper and just pull down on the cable and the hood pops open. How can I go about preventing this? Is there another latch I can use from a different car so that the cable will be inside the engine bay? My car is 93 civic, any help would be appreciated thanks.

hide the cable behind the front bumper beam support. it will make it just a bit more difficult.
