Default f**kin' Rip Off's

alright here's my story, i am planning to buy a new set of wheels for my civic. and my plan is to make it JDM style so my options are 15'' SPOON SW388, 16" MUGEN MF 10 and 16" WORK Emotion CR Kai. now, when i was doing some research on what wheel is best to buy, i stumbled into a forum, a guy there is sayiing how simillar is the SW to an SW rip off. its so similar that you can't really tell which is which. and i was really surprise on what i saw, you can't really tell the difference. the worst part is, its way way cheaper than the SW. the rip off is called ROTA Slipstream. further researching, i found out that not only they have SW rip off, but they also have rip off's of various wheel brands including the the MF 10 which they named it Circuit 8 and the Emotion which they named it Torque. (although the MF 10 and the Emotion are not that similar to their rip off's 'cause you can really distinguish which is which if you are familiar with the wheels.)
now, just wanna know what are the pros and cons of buying a rip off. can someone tell me what would be my advantages in buying the originals, are they my money's worth? pls. help me on this, would really appreciate any help from you guys.

lol you just found out about Rota's? lol noob

i have rip off advan rg rims.. not made by rota but made by adr. for me they are GREAT!! saved me like 2g's over the cost of the real thing and i think they look great. i get a lot of compliments on them too.

but if your one of the ppl who take pride in buying all name brand stuff then save up and buy the real thing.

for me its all a matter of being wise with were i put my money.

goodluck with the modding,

Luke

you think i should get the ROTA instead of the SPOON, do you? i'm really thorn. you said about pride right? well, i'm the kind of person with a very high pride when it comes to those branded things. but on the other hand, the ROTA is really a hell lot cheaper. think of the money i can save fron those rip off's and no one would even notice that those are rip off's. and besides, from what i heard, its far more durable than the SW. so what do you suggest my friend?

agreed. go with the rotas and spend the high dollar on parts that will really make a difference on your car. ie performance.

Rota = 13.5 lbs
Spoon = 12.96 lbs
If that little bit of rotating mass really matters.
It all depends on what you want. I'm saving money to buy Volk TE37's. But that is because I want them.
