A d-series close to 300 hp is ****ing streching it, not only will the motor have lost efficencey, it will no longer be a safe daily driver.
And besides, thats the end of that road.

Now you can slap a t3/t4 turbo on a b18c running single digit psi and produce over 250 hp to the ground, on stock internals! Now get that compression down and you can easily (not cheaply, lol) have 300hp to the ground...and you can just go on from there, lowering the compression and boosting higher psi.
Or you can go all motor with a b series and make one sick mother ****er!

The bottom line is: if you want as much hp as possible, go ahead and get rid of that SHOC POS. But if you want to play the hand you were dealt, build up your d series.

I love to see a built d series in a crx/hatch wax the shit out of a SI its funny as hell. I respect the people making mad hp out of d series, chances are though, a majority of the people on here have d series with i/h/e and thats as far as they are gonna go. They talk about swaps...head work etc. but its never gonna happen.

Technologly is moving, and obviously newer is better (in most cases) it just makes sense to move with it...I.E. K series>b series>d series

not everybody has b or k swap money and imo not worth it if you cant do yourself. ok so 300 is high but ive heard 200 to 250 is attainable. either way if you can make 180 w/ d cheaper than swap why not?

I still don't get why you would want to drop b swap money into making a d series perform just a little better than a stock b... b18c + ihe >d + full build

i believe it can be done 4 less than the cost of a b swap. definitely if you pay labor and dont do the swap yourself.

The bottom line is: if you want as much hp as possible, go ahead and get rid of that SOHC POS. But if you want to play the hand you were dealt, build up your d series. cant argue with that logic well said. my point of view is that not everyone who wants to build up their honda needs to make the kind of power that is the bs potential and that the ds potential is greatly understated.
