Default b18b or b16a

well, the time has come for me ditch my cx motor in my hatch. only thing i'm gonna miss is the 40 mpg. anyways, these are my choices. b18b or b16a, kinda the only ones i can afford. i've had b16a in my EK before and loved it, but wanted to go with something different. i'm sure some of you out there are runnin the b18b in a 5th gen hatch. how do you like it? no matter which one i go with, its gonna be all motor, not turbo/nitrous. lets hear the good and the bad. thanks

b18b with gsr tranny. Have fun with that now and then save for a good ls/vtec setup.

I really like my b16a, but sometimes I wish I would have opted for the b18 route so that I had a smidge more torque

I am not a big fan of the ls/vtec swap.....I would rather get a GSR block and slap the pr3 head on it and make a poor mans ITR.

I myself have the B18B, and have no complaints. I highly reccomend boosting it shortly thereafter though.

well, i used to have the b16 and loved it...gotta love the sound of wide open vtec. as for the whole ls/vtec i've heard bad things about frankenstien motors. haven't had an opportunity to drive the b18 yet, anyone local with ls swap wanna take me for a ride?

go with a b18b for the torque and potential to go LS/VTEC later. you can also build a nice turbo setup.

the b16a is fun on high revs...
