Default Rattleing sounds?

I have a '97 civic dx hb with about 104,000 miles on it, the problem is that when I get to higher rpm's there is a strange rattleing noise that seems to come from the front drivers side of the car. Has anyone experienced this or know what the cause may be? Thanks!

Check all your bolts down there. Heat shields too. Those are always a culprit.

Check heatshields on your exhaust/cat. I had a rattle that began getting worse, and I thought it was the heat shield on the cat. It turned out it was the one right below the cat...tightened it up and solved the problem.

Those damn heatshields... common cause. I ripped mine off last winter driving in a blizzard.

So iieee13...did you find whatever the problem was, or have you checked it out yet?

if you took out your battery lately it might be the battery tray and the 2 long hooks that hold it in place

I bet its the heatshield too. I still have to go tighten mine down one of these days.

my heat shields rattle like a bastard. Its prolly from getting nailed by rocks and gravel (how did that happen? :naughty: ) It adds character.
