Default start problem

hey guys,

i drove my 97 civic ex yesterday and it was fine. i went to band today, and it had a hard time starting, harder than usual. and on the way the tach and speedo stopped working, like went to 0 and then came back, and the dash lights dimmed a little too. so i get to band and finish it, then i try to start it again and it barely starts, same thing whiole driving with tach and speedo, i get back to the dorm. and turn the car off, and try to start it again, it wont turn over more than once. and now it sounds like the battery is dead. any ideas? thansk guys

Do u have anything in there that could drain the battery while the car is off.

sounds like you're not charging the battery (is the battery light on?)

a drain on the system wouldn't kill the battery while driving.

could also be the wire from the alternator to the battery.
take a volt meter and check the voltage of the battery with the car running. is it 12 something or 14 something?
