Hey guys i got an educated question for yall tonite. What's the difference between a B16a2 Engine Swap and a ZC DOHC engine Swap. Remember this is for a 1992 Honda Civic LX.

b16a = DOHC VTEC
ZC = DOHC D-series

B16A2 is the US spec B16A from the 99-00 Civic Si. It is OBD2.

ZC DOHC comes off a JDM CRX ZC and other EF Civic (88-91) platforms. The engine is OBD0


For your 92 civic, the easiest swap would be the US B16A3 OBD1 swap from the US 93-95 Del Sol VTEC or the JDM 91-95 SiR/SiRII B16A OBD1. You wont need to convert to OBD0 nor OBD2.
