Default engine swap question

what all would have to be added when going from a 1.5l to a 1.6l vtec(d16z6). i know that a wire for vtec will be needed. is there only one wire for vtec. but i dont know about everything else.

ok now that thats out of the way. i have a del sol si. im droping a ls vtec in it, so everything is coming out. my friend just bought a del sol s for $600 and he might want to buy my old motor. thats why im asking what will be needed.

depending on his old motor, he may need to extend the o2 sensor wire to make it reach the d16z6 cat location under the car. The cx and vx motors have an integrated cat in the exhaust manifold and the o2 wire just sticks out by the dipstick.

:edit: speaking of which, he'll likely have to add a cat too (duh!)

I thought it was farther down :dunno: I guess I haven't looked at a z6 lately h: sorry.

:edit: but either way, the cat is not in the same location if he's got a cx/vx.

Del Sol S is a DX motor, I believe so the O2 sensor won't be an issue (at least I'm assuming, never tired it myself). There are 3 wires associated with VTEC, the VTEC solenoid/activation wire, the VTEC oil pressure sensor and a ground (there are 3 wires coming off the VTEC solenoid that have to go somewhere) I forget what color is what but you should be able to find it online. I haven't done much with Del Sol's but a Del Sol to Del Sol swap should be pretty much hassle free.
