Default neutral safety switch

Hey everyone

I have a JDM b16a in my 93 Sol....I need a neutral safety switch and my transmission is from a 93 GSR....the car used to be an a/t before the swap, so is this why there is no switch? I bought the car with the swap already done so I have no idea where to look to see if there's one & it just needs to be connected....if I don't have one, does anyone have this part they would like to sell?

Thanks for the the help!

thanks for your reply Running925 This site is great!

Could you tell me where I would look for the proper wires? The Honda dealership said (as it was being inspected) that there is no neutral safety switch?? Could that be true?

If I don't have one (I'll look as soon as I know where to search for it) can I buy yours?

Thanks soooooo Much!

~Kiersten

PS thanks for the patience too with my silly questions....I am new to my car

my 91 jetta start up with having to push the clutch in.

my 92 honda has it, and it's a yellow sensor near the top of the clutch pedal.

i disconnected and ran the two wires together.

my neutral safety switch was pretty much my parking brake cable, my alarm wouldn't do remote start unless the barking brake was on.

so you could set it up like that i suppose.

i'm surprised anyone noticed. most people just push the clutch in when they turn it over out of force of habit.

That's funny. I drove my car auto for a few years before the swap, after the swap, I didn't need to depress the clutch (switch)... So I never got into that habbit. Drove my friend's cars that were stick, I was like, wtf, why won't this start

easily bypassed, but not a good idea to bypass it.

You can take the 2 wires and hook them up the the switch on the pedals. It will take you 5mins and after that your good to go! You should look at the clutch pedal and see it if has the switch hooked up to it. If it does then hook up the 2 wires. You should see 2 switched on the clutch pedal make sure your hooking up the wires to the right switch (easy to find out which one you need! Just hold the pedal down and the one it hits that's the one you need.

GOODLUCK.
