A/C turns off and on
i have a 92 four door, it has a d15b7 and whenever i turn on the a/c it stays on for about five minutes then it turns off. i looked under the hood and i see the compressor moving then the wheel just stops moving, then it might turn back on after a couple of minutes, then the engine starts vibrating, and it sounds like it is struggling and the a/c turns off again. what could this be???

Your compressor's pulley wheel is stopping entirely, but everything else spins? That's not normal for sure. I'd check the belt tension, and see if the compressor's pulley is getting stuck.
Could it just be the Pressure cycling switch? I guess if it's doing it's job...it keeps the evaporator from frosting over.......and if it's bad...i guess it's just cutting on and off whenever....? I'm not sure...just a shot in the dark..
Too much pressure in the system, probably at the expansion valve. causing too much pressure and therefor causing the engine to vibrate or strugle to keep running. So the pressure switch turns the power to the a/c coil off.
have your ac checked out. Could be costly.
good luck

I doubt it's too costly, as you can fbuy a full AC kit for a civic for like 300 dollars on some sites ive seen. I am interested in seeing what the problem is though, I havent heard of it.
