Hello everyone, I haven't posted on here in a long time, I've just been busy I guess. Here's the situation: Currently I have Drop zone coilovers (got them for free from a friend so please no flaming ) on pretty much blown shocks/struts. I need to replace the shocks at least and am wondering whether it would be worth it to upgrade the springs while I'm at it. I've been looking at Eibach's and Tein's, and I don't want the ride much lower than stock, just tighter. The coil overs are adjusted all the way up and i still have a pretty low drop for some reason. Maybe new shocks will help that, I dont know . So, I need some suspension suggestions. This is my daily driver in South Dakota (i.e. bad roads, snow) so I need something practical and I'm just a little confused about all the stuff that's out there. Thanks everyone

Its the tokico HP shocks/springs combo, and not a bad price. I don't have a whole lot of money to drop into a suspension set up, but I need one pretty bad. I'm somewhat considering the Tein Basics, but I'm not sure how that compares to the tokico springs/shocks. Any help is appreciated

 

Well, with the Tokico setup, you do realize that you'll be losing the height adjustability? If you don't necessarily need that, they you'll be just fine with it.

If you still need the adjustability, then a good setup that a lot of folks here have is a set of Ground Control Coilovers with either Koni or Tokico shocks.

 

I don't really need the adjustability, I just need a decent ride height that isn't tons lower over stock. I just checked the Tokico website and it says that the kit that I linked to is a 1.5 inch drop all around. As long as this won't be too low or harsh, I'd be fine never adjusting it.

 

i just installed some koni reds on my EK with eibach sportline springs...had the springs for awhile riding on stock shocks...but after putting in the koni reds the ride now is like night and day compared to stock, really smooth on the road, no more harsh bumps and good on turns...so i'd go with a good spring and shock combo...something like eibach springs or i've heard a lot of good things about H&R springs, match them with some koni reds, which is the cheaper than the koni yellows but only adjustable with the shock uninstalled, but im going to guess the yellows will be for a more agressive drive and its externally adjustable with an adjustable pearch.

 

I could use some help from those of y'all who have tried my combination...

I have a 95 Accord EX 4dr. I've already purchased H&R OE springs. I'm ready to go for Koni's but am not certain if I should go with Reds or Yellows. Here's what I want in my ride. I want to lower the car but not by more than 1" or so. I'm told the H&R OE's will drop .5" but more like .75" or so after they settle. I would like to have a fairly soft ride, nothing harsh as I use the car for daily driving, including getting kids to school and daycare. I don't need adjustability to go firm for any kind of spirited driving so I doubt if I'd really ever go play with the Yellow's knobs. I would consider the Yellow's lower perch setting for the additional .5" drop but have read that Red's have perch adjustments. I will be installing 17x7s and 215/45-17s at some time in the future. Koni's website says use Reds for stock springs, Yellow's if height is lowered. Do H&R OE qualify as stock? They are probably a little stiffer so the Yellow's softest setting, a little stiffer than stock, might combine to be too stiff.

Alright, after lots of research on different setups, I think I'm going to be ordering the the Tokico HP spring and shock kit for my car. I found them for $355 off ebay with free shipping. Do you guys think this will be a good reliable setup for my car? I dont race much or anything, just a daily driver that looks good and handles good is what I'm going for. Thanks
