Over time your exhaust pipes tend to rust and begin to rot until they eventually just break off or cause a hole in it. As to how much it would really depend on how bad it is. Take it to the junkyard and get it fixed at a muffler shop since you dont have a performance exhaust and arent gonna keep the car for long. They wont charge much definately less then $100.

A good name brand performance exhaust will definately give you more hp and they dont sound like those cheap lawnmower mufflers. A friend of mine whos car is auto has a greddy evo exhaust with some headers and its sounds great.

That exhaust hanger is really a POS and usually responsible for all kinds of messed up exhaust sounds. They do frequently rust out and break just like the Honda/Acura's exhaust B-pipes do every 3-5 years. Joe's right. It's probably rusted out by now.

Lmao..that happened to my civic! I went around for a week before I figured out that it was just dis-cnnected and not a Exhaust leak.I felt so dumb.:chuckles:
