eh quiet a bit. depends on brand names etc. i'm sure someone else can help you in that department, i'm not a total gearhead yet, haven't done much engine work.

Just boost the sh*t out of it! it's a d-series, you blow it up and buy a new one for a couple hundred bucks, turbo is the best/cheapest way to get power out of a d-series.

Anyway, you are not going to get 160 wheel horsepower out of a D16Y5/7 if you have to ask how.

Yes, but asking for 160 is way too optimistic, even for a noob. If he seriously wants to get there:

-swap on a Y8 head.
-new, super aggressive cam
-stronger valve springs
-a sweet port and polish job
-high compression pistons
-aftermarket forged rods
-full engine balancing
-ported intake manifold
-ported or aftermarket throttle body
-a decent header/exhaust system
-synthetic oil
-MSD ignition system
-an air/fuel controller and dyno time to tune it.

You might get 160 if you are lucky but you'll be poor, too. D series are expensive to build.
