Default Paint

Hey All
Can someone do a write up or someting on repainting a car? do u need to spray primer or just sand it down and paint over it? can u give links thank you

i think some of the cheaper paint shops just sand then spray. I've seen cars where you could see the previous paint color(s)... not cool. If you want a really good paint job you gotta sand it off. Then prime. Then paint. Paint. Paint again. Then put like a couple of coats of clear on top. Wet sand that down and then buff it all out.

you can see the previous paint where its chipping on my hood.. f.uck you macco F*CK YOU! (previuos owner got it painted there)

What about prepping it urself and getting someone to spray it. What would that cost? In say IS300 Graphite?

if you do the prep work yourself (and do a good job), then you're probably looking at under $1000 for even the entire car. The prep work is the biggest time consumption in paint labor.
