Went out to my local drag strip last night to see what my Civic could do, which I figured would be pretty bad.

My clutch has been acting up for about a month now, so I knew it would go no where until about second gear. On my first run I dumped it at about 5grand; car just rev'd and bog'd down, not even a chirp from the tires. Ended up running a 16.5 at 84MPH. Second run, dumped at 3500 and ran a 16.6.

I then ran my buddies Si with only intake/exhaust and got a 15.5. His clutch felt so good compared to mine.

So I think since I ran his car at 15.5 then my car should be low 15s when I put my new clutch in, what do you guys think? My only performance mods at the moment are Injen CAI, DC Header, ITR Cams, STR Cam Gears, Catback.

I'm hoping for mid-13s by the end of the year when all of my major work is completed.

 

burnt clutches are the worst. get that puppy changed out.

 

Ordered a new clutch and the ACT StreetLite flywheel this morning. Cant wait!

 

Damn, I just put down a 15.5@90.1 with serious third gear issues, I thought an Si was supposed to be faster then me. Then again, the well modified GS-R that was there was only doing 15.3's. :thinking:

I have seen a Viper run a 13.9 with one driver, and another get in and run it at 11.4.

 

Umm yeah it's probably your driving, what 60 foots were you pulling like 2.4+? Also your car isn't gonna put down horribly good ets when you're only trapping 84. Did you make sure all your basic maintenence is up to date, i.e. plugs/wires/fuel filter something doesn't seem right with a 84 trap. Someone on this board has hit a 14.7 with an SI with less mods than you, with ITR cams on top of i/h/e you should be able to hit a mid 14 @ 97ish
