Default Difference in Cat-Convertor

I have a 2001 civic LX and I'm looking to buy a new cat for it.But all the ones I can find are for an EX.Is there any difference between the LX and EX cat's?
Thanks

yes there is a difference. the 01 LX has the cat up neer the head and the 01 EX has it under the engine.

the HX, DX and LX have the same cat. the EX is in a world all it's own.

Being a 2001 shouldn't need a new one, unless you are putting some type of performance one on. Then I would go with an EX header down to a cat for an EX. You may need to extend the O2 sensor wire though...

Yes, I assume that he is getting an aftermarket exhaust on top of the new cat...
