92 LX Maintanence
I've got a slew of questions that would help me out a lot in fixing my girlfriends 92 LX. I'm not too keen on engines, do alot of body work, and now that my cars ready for some engine work, I figure learning on hers is safest
.
1. Her car is an automatic, just like mine is (for now
) - When her car is in park, I can hear a clicking noise everytime I hit the brakes. But if it's in any other gear, there isn't a clicking noise. I don't know if this is even an issue that I should be concerned with, but my car doesn't do it so I figured I would ask.
2. I found out from another post we need a VSS for it, but I was curious if any Honda VSS will work for it, will just one from that generation work, or just from that year (92).
3. The automatic door lock and the passenger window button on the drivers side don't work, and I'm assuming that it's just the fuse, but I figured I'd like to know if there's any other options it could be so that I can troubleshoot it.
4. There is one of the A/C vents that doesn't shoot out air, is there a line that could just be backed up, or do you know of anything else it could be (all the others work fine)?
5. The frame (according to the dealer) isn't bent, carfax didn't show any accidents, and I am positive the tires are balanced, but when doing 50+mph, there drivers front tire feels like it pulls a little to the left. Any suggestions?
I greatly appreciate everyones help, and I hope that teaching me even these simplest of tasks will hopefully help other noobs at some point as well
Thanks again in advance.

2) I believe a 92-95 VSS would work, as long as it's from the same motor/tranny, but don't quote me on that one.
3) Check fuses, then if that's not good, open door panel, check wires.. and connectors within the panel.
4) Which vent exactly? Not to sound odd, but there is a wheel that controls the flow.
5) Check tire pressures... bent wheels... can be anything...

I had some more time to actually look at the car, and here's a few things that I noticed/did:
With the clicking noise: taking maxboosts suggestion, I took the tires off to look at the rotors, which aren't too bad, but the brake pads were pretty worn, and when I asked her if she'd ever touched them, she told me no...and then said that the brake light kept coming on and off :squint: Fortunetly though, it answered the pulling/rough driving question too, becuase as i was putting the tires back on I found a bubble in the tire.
The VSS I'll start hunting for at junkyards, but if anyone can verify for sure if it has to be same gen. or not that would be great.
Didn't have time to check fuses, but I figure that's the problem.
Thanks again maxboost

Glad I can help. I take special interest in this because I have the same car.... err, somewhat.

[I] hi on #1 not sure if this is the correct response i have a 92 lx auto. the tranny has a pc in it that makes the clicking noise usually 2 clicks if you are coming to a stop a hill holder feature.. the 90 91 dont have this feature.. usually hear it if you are coming to a stop.. just 2 clicks..in the front wheel area.. hear it on both sides..dont remember what the part is called. its not part of the brakes..its an auto tranny item..
