AC Quit on 92 Civic
I own a 92 Civic LX 5 spd. I've owned it since 94 and only have 95K miles on it. For the last few years the AC has never really been very cold and every now and then with the AC running I could here sort of a chirping sound coming from under the passenger side dash. About a month ago the AC totally quit running. Anyone else have AC failures with this year model. I'm a car idiot which is part of the reason I bought a Honda. I figured it would run forever. Now the car is toasty as summer starts to roll around. Anyone have a faint idea what is wrong? Compressor maybe? Thanks.
I have the same problem actually. My 95 EX got recharged last summer but when this summer came around, it all leaked out. The compressor's fine, its just due to the rust and the fact that possibly one of the A/C condenser lines is prolly too exposed to the elements of nature.
My buddys 98 GSR had the same problem.
He took it to a shop and they charged him $175. They said that they cleaned out the hoses, changed the filter, and recharged the AC. Now his car is really cold :eek3:

Thanks for the responses. I doubt it is just a leak. It worked. I stopped at a grocery store. Returned to my car 10 minutes later and no AC. The only trouble I've had with this car was expensive to fix. so I'm anticipating the worst.
