Light comes on after a random amount of time driving, i turn the car off, then back on, light isnt on. I found what looks like the diag wires to short, but im not sure. When i short the set witha blue wire it doesnt give me any code.
I was a little unsure if i got the right ones. There were 2 sets of 2 wires with a clip on the end, both were held to gether with a bigger green rubber socket looking thing. How can i get the code if i have to turn off the car and it doesnt show anymore?

 

Take it to autozone or pep boys...one of those places pulls codes for free.
