Pads
i need new break pads for my car, should i just go to the local auto parts store and get the pads they have, or will AEM pads off the internet be that much better? if i do get them off the net, what is a good site to go to?
Aems are ok, but I would checking to Andie @ http://www.cobaltfriciton.com
or Matt @ http://www.carbotecheng.com for some of the best brake pads made.

For daily driving the AEMs were great. I used them for a season of autocrossing with great results too. BUt now i have Hawk HP+ (autocross track days) and Hawk HPS for street. Both nice pads.
Next year I was going ot try the Cobalt Friction pads

I tried a few different brands of parts store pads (I think Bendix and something else, I forget). I was satisfied with both of them, they did what I asked and lasted about 30k miles each. I saved up some money last year and changed my front rotors to brembo blanks for the front and AEM pads along with goodridge lines and I'm very happy with it now. Good stopping power and very fade resistant but this is all street driving. They still dust, like any brake pad will, but I have no complaints. When these go, I'll probably order a new set.
