Default to turbo or not to turbo

Well im thinking future plans for my Del Sol...Ive got the SI, so im sitting here with a d16 Z6. My first idea was turbo the thing and be good to go...well now ive started to consider a swap...Im not looking for the fastest car on the board and im only looking to spend about 2000 either way. This is my daily driver so what do you people suggest for best results and be reliable.

id say, spend the 2000, and swap a gsr engine over, that way, you still get oem reliability that a stock engine has to offer. swap it yourself, btw. h:

Buy this car for $300
...and bolt a non-turbo 4g63 in it for about $400 and run low 14's, or go for a JDM turbo 4g63/tranny/ecu combo for about $1200 and go run 10's. Have a car that cost $1500 less than you were going to spend, and also, could have the fastest hatch on HAN.

Reliability...

Turbo: How good of a mechanic are you? If you swap it yourself, you shouldn't have any problems.

Non-Turbo: Rock solid for 200k miles if you just change the timing belt and oil on time.

Shouldnt mileage on the d16 be taken into account?

Say it has like 90k miles, wouldnt that be too much to boost it at?

Care to share how you would go about the GSR swap for 2000? As far as boosting the z6 it has little less 100k on it so dunno. Would i lose reliability with a turbo?

the only way you would lose reliability is if it was an awful product that your using or your motor already has problems. otherwise you'll be fine.besides, even if someday your boost decided to spike way high and kill ur car or you ran really lean (which you would be able to tell because your car would run like a rapped ape) d16's arent that expensive. but thats just my .02
