quick CEL question
I'm not sure if i'm doing the CEL w/ the paper clip to check the codes correct.
When a cel light is on, and you turn engine, the light is not suppose to blink, correct?
So I did the paper clip and it blink once, right after i turn the key (last month) AND removed the paper clip. So a month later my CEL comes on again (no paper clip attached) and it blinks once. So I insert paper clip, and it also blinks once.
and comments?
If i did do it wrong, the cel shouldn't of blinked at all, correct?

so wait.. you turn on your car and the CEL is on and then turns off... does it blink then or does it just come back on and stay on?
Run through exactly what happens from when you put the key in to when you put it in gear and drive it.

I turn the key , the CEL light pops on, then blacks out (blinks) for 1 second, comes back on and never blinks again, it just stays on (unless ofcourse I turn the key off and back on) this happens both with the paperclip in, and out.
I just want to make sure that initial 1st blink isn't NORMAL for all CELs, and that the 1 blink (o2 sensor error) is my actually problem.
That's normal. When you turn your key to the on position, the CEL will be on. When you start your car it will turn off and then the system will run its check. If there is a problem, the CEL will come back on.
Sounds like if you've used a paperclip and determined that it is a 1 and not a 10 then it is your O2 sensor.

after it comes back on it never blinks again, so this means I didn't do the paperclip thing correctly....
