My guess would be #3, doesn't make much sense, but search for blown engines, that's the cylinder that goes the most.

I'm going to gather up all the info that we need as far as air flow / aproximate fuel pressure & what not & the shape of the intake manifold & i'm going to bring it to a physics professor & see if he can tell us which cylinder whould be running most lean based on all the fax. I'll make sure i get back to you on that tho WCS because i'm very interested in finding this out as well & i'm sure if we want to know.. then there are others out there looking for the same information!

#3 is the leanest cylinder for B/D series, and K series. Not too sure on H or any of the older stuff.

Actually if you think about it, it's the amount of air coming in through the intake manifold that leans an engine out, not the fuel from the injectors, they're probably the same regardless of where on the rail they are (they're pressurized and only letting a small amount out). #3 would get the benefit of the incoming air and any that bouces off the end of the manifold and comes back.

OT: #2 is the leanest on any 4g6x series engine. That's what mine's tapped into.

Ok.. possibly retarded question but how much of a difference would it really make if you put it just after the turbo where all of the exaust gases are going to flow? Would the reading really be off by enough to make a difference? & it would be so easy to put it in right there on the down pipe!

It won't give you accurate readings. You want to know the tempurature of the exhaust gas as it's exiting the head, not after it's been through the turbo. The purpose of the gauge is to get an idea of how rich or lean your running inside the combustion chamber, not just how hot the exhuast gas is after it comes out of an already hot turbo. Take a weekend, pull the manifold off, tap and if possible, weld on a bung to the manifold, make sure it's clean and no metal shavings are going to end up in the turbo and reinstall everything.
