engine swap
You will be disappointed with a B16. Just get a B18 and be patient waiting for boost.
An OBD2 is just as easy as an OBD1 swap in the EG. It doesn't matter what OBD the motor is because you will be putting an OBD1 ECU in it so it just won't see the OBD2 sensors.

There was something else I was going to say.. oh, ya... tranny. I've owned both the LS and the GSR trannys. The LS is a bit longer, but the GSR will get you through the gears faster. The only thing I don't like about the GSR tranny is that it keeps me really high in the RPMs when crusing. I can be going 30 mph in 4th gear and it is running right around 2k rpms.

You'll be disappointed with a b16, I almost gurantee. You'll like it until you ride or drive in something with a B18. You'd have to get into the internals of your B16 pretty to get into the 13's. Even then you'd be pushin it, IMO. To surely be in the 13's you'd have to get a bolt-on kit.
If you want to save some money, and be quicker, go with a B18B and get a turbo kit. Later down the road you cand get a b16 tranny for it if you so desire
