is there anything I can do to just take out the sunroof and plug the hole other than havin my buddy weld in a peice of sheet metal, grind it down, bondo and paint it?

why would you want to take it out?

strapped for cash..if it is cheaper to just seal it up, I mite just have to do that....putting in a whole new sunroof costs hella loot I am led to beleive...at least hella lot more loot than a case of beer and an hour of my friends time

sunroofs are worthless piles of steaming dog plop.

The most common(and effective) cure for sunroof-itis is to cut out the roof of a donor vehicle (so the curvature will be right), spot or seam weld it in and use a little bondo as necessary. This method reduces the amount of bondo needed and generally yeilds better results than starting with scratch sheet-metal.

 

There are sunroof plug kits. Raceplates sells a kit.
