Hrmm can't help you there, i got away with not having one at the track but i had a coupe with a trunk so i'm not sure. You may just want to call NX they have a toll free tech line and they could probably tell you.

a "trunk" is a loose term... it all depends on the track.. and you are right.. what hondas have at a lot of tracks in my area is NOT considered a trunk... a trunk is a SEALED area seperated by a firewall or other rigid structure.. you can get the blowdown kit from NOS or whoever you want as long as it will hook to your bottles valve... on the bottle there is a valve and on the valve it has something that looks like a bolt with a hole in it.. under this bolt is somethign called a rupture disk.. its function is to rupture should pressure rise close the the maximum pressure of the bottle... in other words maybe the bottle can take 1800psi.. well that rupture disk is set at 1600 psi.. so it will rupture and release pressure BEFORE the bottle explodes...what a blowdown kit is.. is a plug that replaces that bolt and has a tube on the end and the tube is routed out of the car.. should the rupture disk pop the nitrous will be vented OUT of the vehicle... cars with rigid sealed trunks don't need this because the wall will prevent nitrous from seeping into the driver compartment.. our "trunks" are far from air tight.. so if you are planning on going to the track id get one.. if you plan on events id get one (sometimes the rules governing the event (tech inspection) is harder than normal track tech..

hope that helps..

Well me and my friends finally got the kit on and the bottle heater working (2 hour install my ass! ZEX's directions are crap!)
Anyways...to test out the might 55 shot I went against my friend with a 95 GSR with I/H/E/C and lowered, and let's just say I spanked him. I hit the gas, spun first in literally an instant before i had to shift, shifted into second spun half of that started to pull like crazy and hauled ass past him in 3rd. He is a high 14 car, so I figure I'm easily mid 14's leaning towards low 14's...but I'm off to the track tomorrow morning (in 7 hours) so I'll tell you guys how it goes.

By the way, I never knew this, but when you shoot you can hear the nitrous runnign through the lines and it whistles realllllly loud...sounds bad ass

Too bad I'm selling the kit to my good friend because my parents found out and are making me take it out h:

I did a 14.4 with a 2.16 60' at 94 mph. Kept up with an RX-7 turbo that did a 14.2. We set a video camera inside my car and the video turned out sweet. I'm going for 13's next time. Today there was a head wind and everyone, including me was doing bad (about 4 tenths slower and 4 mph lower traps). So I can't wait to be doing 13's

Default Dont scare me man!!!

I just bought a zex wet kit off of ebay and I havent installed it yet on my 98 civic ex. It has around 73000 miles on it. Supposedly the zex kit is a dummy proof kit and its not supposed to come anywhere close to detonation. It sounds like your motor had a problem befor and that 55 shot just solved it for you. Sorry man.

im curious as to what gear you sprayed in. this just sounds really odd.

that motor and all others that get busted due to "Nitrous" arent really de to nitrous, its due to either misinformation or lack of knowlege.
