It's also a really stupid idea, most nitrous you get (at least in texas) is welding grade which has small amounts of sulfur which will burn the living sh*t out of your eyes/nose. Unless you have medical grade nitrous with no sulfur i wouldn't open your bottle into the atmosphere...it's just a bad idea and a waste of money anyways.

a quick open and close of the valve to make sure theres something in it isnt going to harm anything, just dont leave it open for more than a quick second.

oh and how big of a zex shot are you installing?
No, zex kits are designed so you don't have to retard the timing. But i think the rule in general for spray is that for every extra 50 hp retard 1 degree or something like that.

I only ran the 55 shot and it was pretty fun with i/h/e, this was before i turned into a turbo junkie. Also the zex kit is kind of inconsistent, the first couple of sprays off each bottle are insanely better than the rest of the bottle. I'd strongly urge you to get a pressure gauge and bottle warmer, if the pressure isn't high enough the nitrous can come out in liquid form and puddle which is bad.

You can also shake the bottle and tell if there's anything in there, i usually just weighed it to see how much nitrous was left. Basically take the weight of the whole bottle minus the actual bottle weight listed on the label and that's how much nitrous you have. Anything under 2-3 lbs is usually worthless.

nononononoo iridiums are death to your motor combined with spray. ALWAYS use copper spark plugs with forced induction. You want the factory oem NGK's just 2 steps colder. You may need a intank fuel pump but that's really the only fuel upgrade i can think of unless you run higher than a 75 shot (which i don't think is even an option with zex)

just get the ngk's or else you'll come back crying

Oh wow, i didn't know you were on a d15 motor. I'm not really sure you'll have to call honda, i'm only used to dealing with Z6/Y8 when it comes to D series. Make a post on the board and someone can probably tell you, just ask for 2 heat ranges colder when you go to the auto parts store. For instance if stock is BRK5 or something like that you want BRK7 (higher number is colder in this instance 2 heat ranges colder)
