and gutting it will get you? why not just go on a diet...you'd be able to lose more weight that way...

my word of advice...save the 800 bucks.. weight till you get about 1500 and peice together your own turbo.. you'd be able to peice together a pretty darn good one if you can find the deals.. keep your eye open on forum classifieds

good luck man... and keep it clean

I second this, except for the lowball weight reduction comment... gutted car >*

If you don't want to wait, you should be able to get intake- $50 header- $150 catback- $200

then put the next $400 into cams/pistons/throttle body

I see it three ways
save it for boost , a swap or a boosted swap

If it were my car (which it is not), I would put my first dollars into the suspension. Even though that will not give you any hp or torque gains, it will give you much better handling.

^ Only way to go.
Maybe take that 800 and find a blown B18B then save money to rebuild it, drop it in and turbo the bish.

a boosted swap obviously would be ideal here.. but atleast you've got the ex model.. you've got the y8 motor.. thats really not a bad motor to boost. you can get some pretty decient pull from that motor.. i say... save the 3000 it would cost you to swap... and just turbo your motor.. then upgrade the internals..(ie cams, rods, pistons..etc)so you can handle a bigger boost....sounds good to me :yumyum:
