Having swapped them, I don't think GSR is shorter at all.

I installed my shifter today and I would definately have to say it is shorter... not a lot but it is a little bit for sure.. noticable to me.

the position however is awesome! I really love it already and I've only took it out for one spin around the block.. most noticable is the throw between 2nd and 3rd... much easier and much closer to your body. I love it :yay:

also thanks b16aEGcivic for recommending that a couple weeks ago. It was very much worth the 33 shipped for everything (shifter and es bushings)

I was too lazy to take measurements and figure out the percent though h:

Where could I purchase this shifter and the bushings? Would it fit my 97 civic?

there is a little bit of modification to the shifter once you have it to make it fit correctly but its really easy.... do a search for gsr shifter.

you can purchase them easily from other members of the board. just look for them they are for sale. also the bushings I got from a member of honda-tech. His username on honda-tech is "shaun311" and he sells them for 13 shipped which is an awesome deal.

well the bottom of the shifter arm on the gsr shifter is slightly wider than the normal civic shifter. so you have to cut off just about 1/4 inch and then transfer the bearing from the civic one over to the gsr one... it sounds more difficult than it is.. it was simple

yes, I used a hack saw.... also other people have said you can just bend your shift linkage to be wider so that it fits the gsr shifter... however I didn't feel like doing it that way was the correct method although it would have worked
