OBD System Check HELP!
Hey! I currently have a 00 Honda Civic Si. I just took it to the emissions test the other day and to my surprise, the OBD TEST RESULT = FAIL. The description they gave me was that they were unable to communicate with your vehicles OBD SYSTEM. My engine has been customized. I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions to help my problem? This is a dumb question but where is the OBDII located in the car?
Not to be rude, but that is one of the most misinformed question I think I've ever read. I don't even know where to start answering..
OBD2 isn't an object, it's a version of software (for a lack of a better description). The difference between OBD0, 1 and 2 is like the difference between Windows 3.1, 95 and 2000.
OBD1 was discontinued in 1995 and OBD2 took over. The future will soon hold OBD3 (if it hasn't been released already). There are also 2 versions of OBD2, but I'm not well versed in that area. :happysad:
I think that the best place to start with this is to ask if your Check Engine Light (CEL) is on? And, what are these 'customizations' that you have done?
