Default help with maintenence light

I went out of town for a few days and when I got back and started up my 97 civic ex the light at the bottom that says "Maintenece Required" was orange. Usually it is green. I checked the oil and all fluids, what could it be?

I could be wrong, but don't these come on when it's time for an oil change or something?

I believe it is a reminder for basic maintenence every 12K. It's ez to make it go away. Just stick your key into the slot and push to reset.

It's a basic maintenence, check your records and the owners manual then stick key into slot as 96greencivic said and the little box will return to green. It's slghtly less complicated then my new M3 which as 6 seperate lights that start out green and dim to orange as they need to be changed. Crazy BMW decided it needed an onboard computer to tell me when my wiper fluid is low
