Default For you turbo d series guys

I went to go do some pizza deliveries tonight and I decided to make my job alittle more exciting so I accelerated through first gear with full throttle acouple times and noticed that I was loosing ALOT of traction between 4,500-7,200 rpm. This was on a semi wet road, but it wasn't like it was totally drenched. Now, I only have a catback and intake, so I thought for sure you guys had this problem. What have you done to reduce/fix this? And its not like I have crappy tires on the front, they aren't the best either, but they are $100 each Toyo (don't know model number) for stock steelies.

ok, i'm not sure what i'm supposed to say in response to this. When the roads are wet i wouldn't go tearing around and especially not in 1st gear

well since between those two RPMs is when your motor is makin the most hp...and that fact you are in first gear..and the roads are wet.....um :shiner:

you don't make "more HP" in earlier gears.
you just happen to get your wheels to spin faster earlier, which helps you lose traction

is this what's happening to you?

Alright guys, I think you misunderstood me.

I did it, if I recall correctly, twice. I'm definitely not the one to rag out my car, and I'm not the one to put my life or someone elses life in danger- this was perfectly safe and if you had been there you would have thought the same thing.

I understand that, I wasn't looking for an explanation as to why that happened- when I did that I realized how little traction I had when it was slightly wet, and how I had basically no modification to my car. Then I thought about how bad it would be like that if the roads were dry and I had a turbo.

I am completely aware that you don't make more hp in early gears. I am just stating what happened when I was doing that, plus it is much easier to loose traction in earlier gears. And that is exactly what I was talking about in the video, and I was just wondering as to how one would stop that.

Let off gas!
Better Tires!
Possibly suspension issue

the fact is .. wet ground is slick no matter what there is no way to 100% fix the traxion issue there.. you can help it a lil bit but u can't totaly have all traxion on wet ground..

I didn't say you were a irresponsible driver, just wondering why you would post a thread bout spinning on the street while it was wet outside. Driving fast in the rain/wet can be safe but not usually on the street and not without rain tires/good road conditions (ala a race course)

Again, I am not looking for an answer for traction on a wet surface.

Ok. I understand what you were saying. Again, it was slightly wet, a good 6-7 hours after it had sprinkled for an hour or so. Just pretend like I left the whole thing about my experience, I'm not trying ot get feedback from that. I'm just wondering as to how you can help/fix the traction problem you will encounter at high rpm's while turboed.

no but you make more hp between those rpm ranges since that is generally around when VTEC kicks in and honda likes higher RPM..hence him noticing the surge in the higher rpms instead of down below....

more hp in earlier gears...:lmfao:
