I think AEM and Injen are great, but I personally think the K&N intakes are the best .

its a tube and a filter...bottom line.

determining factors should be:
1. The coating on the tube (in terms of heat resistance)
2. The filter (in terms of how well it lets air flow through it)

the best intake i ever had was a cheap ebay CAI that I ceramic based painted the tubing on. While everyones chrome ones were too hot to touch, mine was cool as ever.

I would do that. Stock airbox looks cleaner too imo.

One problem with quoting my thread.

I wasn't using a CAI. I had the stock airbox, minus resonator.

but if you are looking for good intakes for your 7th gen... go with AEM or Injen.
I have to agree with dood on this one. I had an AEM CAI before, till the lower piping got a cut from rubbing against the body. Anyhoo.. i sold that intake and install my airbox without the res.. and it's pulling really nice. feel like it has much better response than when i had the AEM. but it's all up to you though.

dood.. u know where i can get the K&N drop in for cheap?

As long as your intake consists of a Metal Tube and a filter that will not Self Destruct like the APC filter i had 2 years ago (and the last and only APC part i ever bought - y0 thAt FilT3r was ONLy $8!) then you will be fine.

best way to find out is to dyno your car with and without it. im not saying AEM is a bad intake. i just think it is a POS IMO.

i dyno'ed mine and was pleased with the results.

I also run a stock intake box with the resonator removed and a K&N filter. I use to have an ICE MAN intake and IMO its one of the best cold air intakes on the market plus its cheaper than the AEM.
