I was never sure when it VTEC kicked in for the SOHC. the 5500 is prob for the DOHC.

yes but RPM's are a factor as well

Of course they are, but do the factors I mentioned, determine what RPM it engages at? That's what I was curious about.

no, they just determine if it is allowed to engage....it will always engage at the same rpm....unless you get into I-vtec..but yada yada yada
