ok, i've search already and i remember reading it somewhere in here... but the search don't come up with it.

what is needed for rear disc brake conversion? and also, does anyone know where i might be able to find on in the bay area? i've checked EBAY but nothing came up. i want to do this mod... but only thing i am nervous about is making sure i got all the parts needed, and also running the brake lines and disconnecting the e-brake lines. any special tools needed?

sorry if this may seem like a repeating post... i am just hoping someone can do a compiled list of parts needed so i can print it an add it to my collection of how to's folder. hopefully this weekend i'll be able to get a rear disc... if someone can point me to the right directions?

the bolting up is not that difficult, but running new brake lines and changing the brake fluid sounds like a huge pain in the ace.

 

I had air tool, and the help of my knowledgeable father.

It wasn't too difficult. Everything is straight forward. The hardest thing was chaning over the proportioning valve, that was a big pain in the ass. Pick up/borrow/rent some brake line wrenches, unless you want to f-up your lines. they are special, better gripping.

bleeding brakes isn't difficuly, just time consuming. If you get one of the manual gismo's for bleeding brakes, be sure not to try and go too fast, or it won't work right. its better to have a friend pumping the brakes.

get 2x the amount of brake fluid you would normally buy. becasue you'll be bleeding the whole system basically, becasue it will be open to air big time, unless you don't change the proportioning valve and booster/master cylender.

overall, should take you a nice saturday to complete fully.

wow... i guess it'll be a pain in the arse for me then... since i don't have anyone helping me out. all of my friends (gearheads, etc) moved to LA cuz of their jobs... damn~! the bolting part, i am not too worried about... bleeding brakes.... i got my cuzine to help me out on... but running the brake lines... and changing the master cylinder & porportioning valve... damn... don't even know what that looks like... better check my helms...
