Default Kosei K-1 16" rims on 97 civic

hey guys,

i asked earlier about lugs for my 97 civic ex, you guys said i needed conical lugs to fit most aftermarket rims, i tried my stock ones, they're rounded. and they seemed to fit the rims, i was just wondering if anyone has dealt with these rims on this car or the like. im pretty sure the sock lugs will fit but if you guys have any more info i'd appreciate it. 16 " Kosei k-1 rims on 97 civic ex. thanks again

I just used my stock lugs off my '98 EX with my Kosei's, minus one for a set of parts store wheel locks. I was going to get a set of custom lugs/locks for mine someday but I probably never will. If I remember correctly, the parts store had a set of 4 locking lugs and 12 regular conical lugs for sale as well. That's probably the best option.

If the wheels are brand new, I suggest you go back and retorque the lugs every 100-200 miles for the first month or so. Sometimes they can work themselves loose when the material is still new.

Like Andy said, they'll work, but they might loosen up after a while. Is it really worth the risk, no matter how small the risk is?

Take a look at the lug holes of the wheels? Are they shaped like a cone? If so, then it'd be best if you use conical shaped wheel lugs for better contact with the wheel.

Were not saying that the rounded wheel lugs won't work, it just doesn't have a good contact with the wheel as the conical lugs would.

Yes you should use conical lugs on the Kosei K1s. OEM lugs are not safe to use on most aftermarket rims.
