Default d15b Vtec Help.

We just did an engine swap for a 92 civic HB. We installed a JDM B15B Single cam Vtec engine, now, the harnest that came with the engine was cut. So we used the old harnest form my stock engine, car works fine except for the speedometer, and the vtec. what can i do to get the vtec working, some one told me that these a way to use my stock ecu and make the vtech work, or does any one have a ecu + wire harnest for sell.

I would think he's running the stock ECU . Well the V-TEC works off the rpms so I "think" you can use the stock ECU just need to run 3 wires . Im doing the same thing so if someone can help me out as well that would be great ! And as far as the MPH you need to check the plug on your tranny it's the one on top off the tranny closes to the firewall . Hope that helps .

Well if he is running his stock ECU it probably isn't a ECU that has vtec so you can run all the wires you want but you still won't have vtec. Oh yeah all the 92 civics are wired for vtec from the factory so no need to run any wires for it, he just needs the right ECU. The speedo problem is probably the Vehicle Speed Sensor (it may be bad,not hooked up, or have a bad connection to the harness).

He'd have to run the correct ECU and as well as the correct wiring. If you run a D16Z6 harness and ECU you will be fine. If you decide to use the nonVTEC harness you will have to run the wiring for VTEC and VTEC oil pressure.

Are you throwing any codes?

If he is running his stock 92 wiring harness its already wired for vtec.

To be completely honest, I've never actually tested this theory. I don't know for SURE if the harness has the VTEC/VTEC oil wires or not. I know my '95 harness sure didn't.

I don't even know anyone with a '92 that I could look at.
