I want a 6 speed transmission for my 6th gen

Need more gearing... dying for a 6th gear. I don't want to be revving so high at 80 mph. So I don't want too close mission a 6 speed.

What options are there?

Slow down...

Those engines will rev all day at 4 grand with no problems.

That's why speed limits are set between 55 and 65. That speed will give you the optimal gas mileage.

Think about getting your gear ratios changed (chipped/tuned/etc), make your 5th gear longer or soemthing. I'm not a genious on the topic. HIH

what kind of motor would you be putting this 6th gear into?

unless its a NSX or s2k, you dont need one.

First of all, what car do you have? If you want better gas mileage get a CX or HX tranny or drive slower.

I believe I read on here one time, for every 5mph over 60mph, you lose 1mpg.

You rev high at 80mph??? At 80 I only rev around 3-3.5 rpms.

The only option I think you have is to buy an aftermarket 6 speed. I've seen them before for Preludes, but I really don't know if they are available for Civics. The one my friend got for his Prelude was about $5k...so not cheap.
