Did you guys hear Mazda Rev It up is back for 2004 YEAH! And now we get to run the Mazda3.

Which by the way I took 1st place at the Philly MRIU against all the manufactuers WOot! And I took 2nd place on Friday against about 1000 people? Then got bumped to 12th place overall by Sunday

Thats sweet that Mazda is bringing it back. I'm interested to see what the new 3 is like seeing I have a '93 mazda 323 and the 3 is the next logical step. As was the 6 replacing the 626.

And how was it not an auto-x? There were cones, it was a timed lap around a smaller track in an empty parking lot. Sure it was fun and you got to really hand it to the cars as much as you'd like without worry of breaking your own car, but it sure looked like an auto-x to me///

Anyway....CvicSiRacer, PM me when you know which Mazda event you're going to. I would love to meet you finally and witness your driving abilities first hand...h:

maybe I could learn something...

Nah you'd be surprised how quick you will climb the ranks. Take some novice schools and Evolution Schools and you will be there quick.

CivicSiRacer: you should look into getting to the point (if you're not already there) where you can start to run your own classes or beginner auto-x tutorials...charge for it. Schedule ono-on-one appointments with people...

may be an interesting business oppurtunity.

it doesn't take much money or time to autocross. all you need is a car and $25 whenever you feel like racing. go to scca.org and follow links to your local region to find a schedule, then just show up! (some regions require online pre-registration)

if your car was in csp then it wasn't mostly stock :chuckles:

but there are a lot of thing you can change/upgrade in stock class and still stay in stock class.

here is my pic of proper cornering technique

It wasn't an autocross because you had to get close to the "main driver's" time. If it were on time alone I would have been like 2nd instead of 12th by Sunday.

I'm prolly going to the Philly and NY events.

Actually I volunteer as an instructor for our region and other regions that I run with. I am not looking for money yet.

For stock:
  • catback exhaust
  • DOT R tires on stock wheels
  • K&N filter element replacement
  • shocks (same height as stock)
  • front sway bar
  • brake rotors same as stock
  • any brake pads
  • any fluids
  • 4 or 5 point harness
  • any spark plugs
