Default 99 Civic Help

Aight I got a complete stock 99 Civic EX 5 speed. I am taking it to the track tomorrow night to race a 01 Accord Automatic. The Accord is all stock too. Do I have a chance? Aight next question. I have about 2 grand I wanna throw into my car. What should I do with it. I have read here the first thing you want to do is get some springs. Any other suggestions. Thanks men I will keep you all up to date with the results.

I agree, go with the suspension first. I just finished mine today...Skunk2 coilovers over Tokico blues...I love it so far.

But spending that money depends on what you want to do with it too...if you want to just improve the 1/4 mile time, you may just want to throw that money into a turbo or supercharger. If you want to improve handling, performance, looks, etc, I'd say go with the suspension and then the basic bolt ons (I/H/E). Should be a tight setup! Good luck whatever you go with!

depens if the accord is vtec, v6, how far you race etc.

if your serious about the build up, I'd first get neuspeed sports springs, koni yellow shocks, neuspeed strut bar, wider wheels, and a greddy turbo.

we have to know how serious and dedicated you are before we advize you how to spend the $$$

Have you seen the august Sport Compact Car? they have a big article on stuff you can do to improve 1/4 times for free. they actually end up hacking the car to bits, but theres some stuff you actually CAN do:

stripped interior - passenger and back seats, trunk bottom deck thingy, spare tire, door panels, speakers/stereoif your REALLY

serious about beating the guy:
remove a/c compressor, remove power steering pump, remove body peices(trunk lid, doors), take out headlights and taillights, you can run TEMPORARILY with no alternator, but you gotta get it back on for the drive home. Remove exhuast (if youre at the track)

good luck

white n slow are you kidding me?

practice up on your launches so you know where to drop it without spinning. lower your tire pressure a few pounds. turn off the a/c. pass on the curly fries. and don't miss the gears.
