You should be getting better mileage on the freeway not the city. You must have one of them rare gas electric hybrid del sols or something.

I used to get a consistant 34-35 mpg highway, city, whatever no matter how hard I drove, but now that it's cold weather, I only get like 29-30, 26 when I had snow chains on driving like 10 mph everywhere.

thats funny you have to be yankin my chain on that one. i don't know why i get that on the freeway. we've talked about this before and no one knew why it gets that. it spins at like 3500 going 85 and the water temp gauge is at half.

if your just looking for a fun second summer driver thats good on gas the Si is for you. If you want more speed and are willing to pay the higher maintance/more and pricer gas and search out for it, go for the VTEC.

there isint much really, but some little things that can add up if you dont look out and shop around. the honda dealership i went to for my timing belt had to phone in alot of parts due to the "rarity" of my make and model. basically they thought i had an Si and when they actually opened the hood 2 days later to work on it, they found out they were wrong and had to call some distributor to ship some parts, end result: more time in the shop and more $ spent by me. if i can find the old receipt i will show you all.

wtf ... the Si motor is the same as the Civic EX. Your dealership is dumb. The VTEC model is the same as the 6th generation Civic Si .. and for that matter, any B series engine part would fit. Honda planned it all out so things like that wouldn't be an issue. Also, with the abundance of aftermarket parts for Honda D and B series motors, it should be almost impossible to not find the part you're looking for.

I'd be curious as to what part they had to specially order... sxecrow is absolutely right. Maybe they were pulling your leg...? Or pulling a scam...?
