Default how hard is it to change a dash

how much time is involved, and where can i get a diy. my ex got in a crash with her cx hatch. well the top of the hood is crushed like can and the radiator (top part) is pushed back touching the engine, the car dont start now, so i was thinking of swaping my dark grey dash for her black one.

also is the car repairable if the whole top bar is bent back to the engine, a truck backed into it and the rear bumper pushed everything back right where the hood line was. ill try to get picks up today. im thinking the insurance will say it a total loss and take it, or can i keep it so i can switch stuff or should i switch stuff before they check it out?

I dont have much mechanical skills and Ive already taken my dash out like 3 times, took me about 20-30min
so its a pretty easy job
just make sure you have everything unplugged and dont go yanking on it to get it out

it should take you about 8-10 hours to swap the dash and its not hard at all ! Just screws the only thing thats hard is the CC climate control . And thats not hard at all ! Goodluck !

yes u have to remove the steering wheel

just be careful when you remove the airbag
if i remember correctly you have to disconnect the negative on the battery

oh and remove the turn signal and the light controls, whatever its called
so that you dont break em off

Airbags have back up batteries...

You have to plug in the SRS safety harness below the wheel.
